Hands-On History with Historic New England In-Person
Hands-on Historic activities for children at this Colonial Life/Patriots Day themed presentation by Historic New England Staff.
Best suited for families with children ages 5-12, this program helps families discover history through fun games and crafts.
The journal of Colonel Samuel Pierce, who lived at Historic New England’s Pierce House in Dorchester, provides a window into the Revolutionary War era as we explore the topic of Patriots' Day. Children dress up in colonial-era clothing, examine reproduction artifacts, make tin lanterns and create tricorn hats. of paper, to wear.
Held in the Children's Room. No registration needed. This program is funded by a grant from the Braintree Cultural Council, a local agency, which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
